Lomi begins by heating and grinding your food waste.
Through the cycle, the sensors measure and control the moisture content and temperature inside while the airflow system provides a continuous supply of oxygen.
The airflow system also consists of a proprietary dual-filter design that helps neutralize the odor.
*Meats and Dairy
Yes! Lomi can process meat!
We recommend 1/4 cup or less per cycle
Do not add any bones that may damage the grinder
*Fruits and Vegetables
Yes! Lomi loves fresh, whole, raw fruits and veggies.
Avoid fruit pits and harder materials
Chop up fruit cores and add only 1/2 cup per cycle
*Yard Waste
Yes! Lomi processes yard trimmings.
Make sure to chop these into smaller pieces
Yard trimmings are considered 'brown waste' and should make up no more than 1/2 a cycle
*Bread and Grains
Yes! Grains are great for Eco Express Mode.
Make sure grains are mixed well with a diverse group of food waste
Make sure grains make up a smaller portion of the total input
*Lomi Approved Products
Lomi Approved products are non-food compostable products that can be efficiently broken down by Lomi and transformed into compost.
Lomi has a specific list of products (like compostable kitchen bag) that sit under this category
